5 Bullet Journal Ideas for your Travels

Bags packed, sunscreen at hand, bikini on...Summer is here! I guess most of you is already on holiday or about to take off. #imnotjealousatall 😒 Jokes aside, I'm really happy for you and I think I might also manage to take a couple of days off next month before the tour de force to Christmas. Fingers crossed! 🤞 Whether you are an experienced bullet journalist or you just found out about the method, I hope you'll pack your Bullet and Paper Book with you this Summer. To be honest, one of my regrets is that I only found out about the Bullet Journal Method once I got back from my 2-year solo trip around the world. I wish I could go back in time to have it and use it throughout my journey. But, never mind, the important this is that I now use the method every day and I already know I will take my bujo wherever I go from now on.

Today, I want to share with you 5 travel-related inspiring ideas I've found on Instagram.

1 - Travel Bullet Journal Idea: Packing List

A packing list is essential if you want to make sure you don’t forget anything important on your next trip. And what about a cool packing list? I've found some great packing list through the #BUJOpackinglist hashtag on Instagram and this one by @sunshine_journal_ is probably my favourite for its simplicity and minimal look.

2 - Travel Bullet Journal Idea: Scraps and Photos

Maybe it's the little kid inside me, but I do love these kind of spreads and colourful travel log. My bujo is very different (as in minimal), but I still love to look at those of people who much more creative than I am, like these ones by @foreverdrinkingcoffee (left) and @doodlingpotatoo (below).

3 - Travel Bullet Journal Idea: Travel Log

I've always loved maps and wherever I go, I always get one or two. I've also tried to make one on a piece of paper, but you don't want to see the end result. I'm truly terrible at drawing 😭.

Thankfully, there are people who are very good at it and I can admire their work through the #bujotravel hashtag on Insta. For example, I love this type of world map by @bujoinspiration18.

But if you, like me, are not such a good illustrator as @bujoinspiration18, don't worry! We've designed a gorgeous world map on our Bullet and Paper Book for you.

4 - Travel Bullet Journal Idea: Bucket List

Don’t we all love bucket lists? I do! Well, I love all sorts of lists, but those about travelling are definitely my favourites! 🌍You can use your bullet journal pages to craft your own bullet journal travel bucket list! There is even a dedicated hashtag for it. Follow #bujobucketlist to get some inspiration! This is what Sarah from Germany created for her Summer 2019 Bucket List. AMAZING, right?

We've already discussed the benefits of handwriting in this article, but filling in Bucket Lists and the Places I Wanna Go Collection on my bullet journal, really helps me visualise all the places I want to go to and pushes me through rough days.

5 - Travel Bullet Journal Idea: Travel Quotes

One of my wildest dreams is to learn to handwrite and draw like Handrian. Maybe one day...haha 🤣🤣🤣

...in the meantime, I'm happy to admire great handlettering made by talented people like @ip_bujo 😍

Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind. – Anthony Bourdain

Travel is my main source of happiness and it's for me the most important thing in life. There is nothing that gives me as much pleasure as exploring new countries and meeting new cultures. Nothing, for me, compares to the excitement of getting out of my comfort zone and get lost. Maybe, the only thing that can actually stand up to it, is remembering my own adventures. This is why I always carry a journal with me, to stop the time and make sure my memories, in the form of ink to paper, are going to last forever.

And you? Are you going to take your Bullet and Paper Book on your travels this summer?
